I have recently purchased a new waterproof jacket (an anorak). The search for something practical was horrendous. Everything has these 'waterproof' zips. Yeah like thats going to keep the rain out when you're in a 50mph wind. What is wrong with double storm flaps. It would seem that flaps dont look as good. They even put zipped pockets at an awkward angle for your hands to go into, just to look good. I was also with the Crock when he bought his new waterproof trousers. Same problem there; waterproof clothing just doesnt seem to be made for going out in the rain in anymore. Cut the fashion, Mountaineering aint fashionable! My conclusion here is that people dont go out in the rain anymore, so why are people paying upwards of £200 for a waterproof? I did manage to find an anorak to my specification. Thank you Mountain Equipment.
